Coaxed into her first cricket practice by another young girl who didn’t want to be the only girl there in Grade One at Age 7, Diara Ramlakan is bubbling under on the local cricket scene.
Diara is a strong all-rounder who looks up to Protea’s women Laura Wolvaardt, Marizaane Kapp and Shabnim Ismail for their elegant play, work ethic, calm and passion for the game she loves so much.
While she didn’t get the call-up to the match day XI for South Africa during the ICC Women’s U19 T20 World Cup, there’s no doubt we’ll see Diara in the green and gold soon.
