Kagiso Rabada.

Date Of Birth: 25.05.1995

With over 10 years in professional cricket, Kagiso ‘KG’ Rabada is a household name and has over 500 international wickets to his name.

The right-arm fast bowler known for his pace, stern temperament at the crease, and fervour in taking wickets grew up in the north of Johannesburg, South Africa.

KG honed his skills in the game whilst attending St. Stithians College and showed promise very early on.

He earned a spot in the U19 Proteas squad in 2014 in the UAE where South Africa beat Pakistan by seven wickets in a thrilling final and was the team’s highest wicket taker in that tournament. After his debut in T20, he went on to debut in the ODI game against Bangladesh in 2015 - becoming the only second player in history to take a hat trick on ODI debut. He finished the match with the best bowling figures for a debut - 6 for 16. He made his Test debut against India later that same year.

He shot to the top of the ICC ODI and Test Bowling Rankings by age 22 and became the youngest man to take 150 test wickets.

Off the pitch KG spends his time between matches, producing and playing music (his favourites are house and hip hop), working on his business interests including KGR Sport and Entertainment and time with his family - his father Mpho, mother Florence and brother Atlegang.

Whilst KG is now considered a stalwart of the Protea’s side and plays a pivotal role in guiding new talent joining the side, his talent shows no signs of slowing.

Among his many accolades, KG earned CSA Cricketer of the Year in 2016, the IPL’s prestigious Purple Cap for most wickets in the tournament in 2021, and most recently, CSA’s Test Player of the Year in 2022 & 2023, named in the ICC’s Men’s Test Team of the Year and was the ICC’s leading Test Wicket taker in 2022.
